Solo Points Keeper

The Solo Points Keeper is responsible for keeping track of the points earned by competitors over the course of a Solo season. Season points should be updated and posted on the website no more than 2 weeks after each event is completed.

Calculating Solo Season Points

In order to qualify for Season points and a year end trophy, each competitor must be a DRSCCA member.

Each competitor must compete in enough events in the same class in a season to qualify. To find the Number of Qualifying Events, divide the number of events in a season by half, round down to the nearest whole number if necessary, and then add 1. For example, if there are 8 events in a season, then a competitor needs to compete in at least 5 events to qualify. If there are 7 events in a season, a competitor needs 4 events to qualify.

If a competitor competes in more events than the Number of Qualifying Events, then the best finishes from the top Number of Qualifying Events counts towards their season points. For example, if a competitor competes in 7 events out of an 8 event season, the best 5 finishes for that competitor counts for their final points tally.

Points are determined using the following formula: Points = 100 - 900*[(your time - best time in class) / best time in class]

If points are calculated to be less than 20, you are automatically awarded 20 points. This means you are awarded 20 points minimum simply for attending the event.

Season trophies are awarded using the following schedule where the number of drivers is based on those that meet the Number of Qualifying Events requirement:

  • 1-3 drivers, 1 trophy
  • 3-6 drivers, 2 trophies
  • 7-9 drivers, 3 trophies
  • 10+ drivers, 4 trophies +1 for every 3 additional drivers
