The Solo Registrar

The Registrar is responsible for:

  1. Handling registration, payment, and cancellation questions
  2. Providing the finance numbers for the Final Event Budget
  3. Providing the number of worker points redeemed to the Worker Points Chair

The Registrar is listed as the primary contact on the MotorsportReg (MSR) registration page. This means that all questions submitted through MSR will be sent to the Registrar.

Questions about registering entrants

Direct entrants to register themselves on MSR. Entrants can register themselves and their codrivers for an event. If the entrant is a member of the SCCA member, their status as an SCCA member is checked by MSR against the National Office database. Sometimes, if someone is a brand new SCCA member, the sync between MSR and SCCA is not up-to-date, resulting in them not being able to register for the member price; if someone has this issue, you may ask to see an email confirmation of membership purchase or renewal and manually give the entrant the correct pricing package in MSR.

Most registration questions will revolve around membership and entrant pricing.

If the person is not an SCCA member, they will have to pay for a Weekend Membership in addition to the regular entry fee. We do offer a small discount to Detroit Council of Sports Car Club (DCSCC) members. This is on the honor system, as we do not have any way of checking Council membership.

If there are questions about membership that you are unable to answer or resolve, contact the DRSCCA Membership Chair.

Questions about car classes

If there are questions about where to class a car, direct the entrant to choose anything in MSR. They can get a clarification on the correct classing in Tech Inspection the day of the event.

Questions about payment, including worker point payments

We currently do no accept cash payments on site. Entrants must pay using a credit card or debit card online. If someone shows up to Registration without having paid, direct them to MSR to complete the transaction.

Individuals may pay using worker points. A worker point is worth $5. If an entrant wishes to use worker points to pay for their entry fee:

  1. Check the worker points Excel on the DRSCCA website to ensure that they have enough points to cover all or part of the entry fee
  2. Mark the entrant as paid in MSR and add a note stating that worker points were used
  3. Report to the Worker Point Chief the number of worker points that the individual is using

Entrant cancellations and entry fee refunds

When an entrant on MSR cancels their entry, MSR marks their entry as Cancelled and sends the Registrar a message. Note that the cancellation of the entry and the entry fee refund are two separate actions!

The Registrar must go into MSR and manually refund the entry fee for the entrant. (Add step-by-step here?)
